During a joint press conference in Baku, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Swiss Minister of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis—who is also serving as the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office—discussed the deepening of bilateral relations and key regional security issues. Minister Bayramov highlighted the strong economic partnership between the two nations, noting the successful operations of SOCAR in Switzerland and the importance of private sector collaboration. He praised Switzerland's comprehensive priorities for its OSCE presidency, which cover areas such as digital security, energy security, water management, and innovative technologies. Additionally, Bayramov addressed the ongoing Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process, pointing to progress made through direct bilateral dialogue, the de facto establishment of peace, and trust-building measures. He affirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to signing a formal peace agreement once Armenia resolves constitution-related territorial claims, while also calling for OSCE support in regional transport infrastructure and mine clearance initiatives.

In response, Minister Ignazio Cassis expressed appreciation for the hospitality and noted Baku's significant modernization and environmental transformation over the years. Cassis reaffirmed the long-standing friendly ties between Switzerland and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the solid foundation of their economic exchanges and mutual interest in expanding private sector investments. He noted Azerbaijan's critical geopolitical position as a transit hub connecting Europe and the Caucasus, specifically highlighting cooperation surrounding the Southern Gas Corridor, economic diversification, and logistics. Cassis welcomed the ongoing discussions regarding peace and stability in the South Caucasus, indicating that both ministers plan to continue their dialogue on mutual interests and broader global challenges, such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the Middle East, during upcoming international engagements.
