Batocera via USB e SSD m2 nvme na Orange Pi 5. PARTE 1. Atualização do Bootloader e uso de Pen Drive

The presenter details the process of updating the Orange Pi 5 bootloader to enable booting operating systems directly from external USB drives and M.2 NVMe SSDs. After updating the bootloader using Ubuntu through the board's configuration settings, Batocera can be booted from various external storage media. While 2.5-inch SATA HDDs and SSDs function via simple Y-cables or basic SATA-to-USB adapters, powered external cases and 3.5-inch HDDs encounter compatibility issues. Additionally, Batocera exhibits an HDMI audio bug on the board that requires physically disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable multiple times to properly detect the audio output and reset the system volume. Despite these minor software quirks, a live demonstration confirms that Batocera runs smoothly from a USB flash drive formatted to exFAT, delivering strong emulation performance across 3D, arcade, and PlayStation titles.
